What is your AP account?
Upon your registration or appointment at AP, you receive a username and a password. These credentials grant you access to various ICT platforms. With this information, you can also log in to a computer (laptop or desktop) at AP. Additionally, you receive an email address.
Your username and email address are not the same!
Activate AP account?
When you log in for the first time on one of the AP platforms, you need to go through a few steps. First, you have to change your password. Be aware that your password must meet certain requirements.
You can find more information about your password here.
To enhance the security of our systems, we also use multi-factor authentication (MFA). During your initial login, after changing your password, you will be prompted to activate MFA. Keep your smartphone at hand!
You can find more information about MFA here.
Difference between username and email address?
Your username consists of a letter and 6 numbers. You use this to log in to ICT platforms. For staff, the username starts with a 'p,' and for students, it starts with an 's.' It's sometimes referred to as your "p-number" or "s-number."
Your email address is formatted as firstname.lastname@ap.be or firstname.lastname@student.ap.be. You cannot use this email address as a username to log in. To access your mailbox, you also log in with your p- or s-number.
